Two New Locks For Commercial Door Range

Two New Locks For Commercial Door Range

SAS has added two new ASSA Abloy lock options for its SPD150 aluminium commercial door. They are both tested to PAS 24:2022+A1:2024, to deliver a greater security.

ASSA Abloy’s bough Senior Aluminium Systems in 2025. Since its introduction in the same year, Senior’s SPD150 has quickly established itself as a durable, high-performance solution for demanding commercial projects. The integration of ASSA Abloy’s ES8100 V Lock to create the SPDVL locking system is set to build on this reliable performance by delivering a fully integrated and concealed access control solution which not only strengthens security but also improves design flexibility and operational functionality.

Max accessibility

The new SPDVL locking system has been designed to integrate entirely within the door and framing system to provide a dual action, non-rebated, high usage door suitable for both single and double door applications. A key advantage of this approach is that the locking system does not encroach on the clear opening width, ensuring maximum accessibility and compliance in high-traffic environments. The concealed nature of the system also delivers a cleaner architectural finish.

Outward opening

Senior has also developed a new option for projects that feature its SPD150 commercial door as an outward opening single door by incorporating the power of ASSA Abloy’S 281 Series Direct Pull Electromagnetic Lock to create the new SPDML locking system. Featuring two high holding force magnetic locks housed within a specially engineered dual maglock slam post, the SPDML locking system is compatible with all standard Senior thermal framing mullions, helping reduce the need for bespoke detailing and supporting consistent installation across multiple doorsets.

To maintain the required holding force of the magnetic locks, Senior can supply handed mounting plates, along with guidance to ensure the correct version is selected for the door handing on each project. This helps minimise installation errors and ensures the locking system performs as intended. As the slam post extends across the internal door stile and the standard push location becomes partially obstructed, Senior has also introduced the SPWMF18 push plate, providing a clear and accessible surface for applying opening force.

The push plate can be supplied in any colour to meet individual project requirements.
